So, you are new to this whole Android scene? Not a problem! We recommend you read the Glossary to get yourself familiar with the terms first before proceeding. You can always refer back to the glossary if you get confused. You can also leave a comment on each post and I’ll try to help you if I can.

If you need to register your G1 without a SIM card or Data plan, follow this link. Contrary to what T-Mobile will tell you, the G1 works fine without a data plan.

Optionally, you can also install a custom SPL. This is highly recommended.

Now that you have rooted, here is the basics on how to apply a theme.

You will now want to update your radio if you plan on upgrading to Cupcake.

Then you can pick a custom Cupcake ROM from one of the many developers.

Okay, so you are new to our website and it seems confusing how to find your way around? Not a problem! You can always use the Search toolbar on the top right corner.

Now here is now the basic navigation works. The first few posts of each category includes the basics about that category. For example, the first post in the Mods category is on how to root. The first post in Theme’s category is how to install a theme. More recent posts are just updates for that category (like new releases).

• The Mods category includes tips and tricks for working with your G1, including rooting your phone.
• The SPL’s category includes directions and information about using SPL’s.
• The Themes category includes how to install themes and some popular themes.
• The Site News category includes updates about this website and typically won’t have too many announcements.
• The category in each developer’s name includes information about the developer and their releases to help you stay current.
